Um dos concursos visa a criação de uma série de seis Postais Ilustrados alusivos à História dos Media. O desafio lançado aos alunos convida à criação de cartões postais que ilustrem de algum modo um facto, um fenómeno ou personalidades ligadas à história dos meios de comunicação social. O prémio para o trabalho vencedor é uma máquina fotográfica digital.
O outro concurso propõe a criação de uma Reportagem Audiovisual que retrate o uso que as pessoas fazem ainda hoje dos postais ilustrados. O juri avaliará os trabalhos atendendo à criatividade e à originalidade, ao domínio das técnicas jornalísticas e à harmonia da narrativa. O prémio para a melhor reportagem é uma câmara de vídeo digital.
Os trabalhos submetidos a concurso poderão estar em exibição no Congresso Mundial de Ciências da Comunicação da IAMCR que se realiza na Universidade do Minho, em Julho de 2010.
O prazo de submissão dos trabalhos termina em 31 de Maio de 2010. Os trabalhos concorrentes devem ser enviados por correio ou entregues pessoalmente no Instituto de Ciências Sociais - Universidade do Minho - Braga.

The research team of the project promoting this weblog is launching two competitions, especially oriented to Communication Sciences students.
One of the competitions aims the creation of a series of six Picture Postcards depicting the History of Media. The challenge addressed to the students invites the creation of postcards representing a fact, a phenomenon or personalities concerning the history of mass media. The prize for the winner work is a digital photographic camera.
The other competition purposes the creation of an audiovisual reporting portraying the use people still do of postcards. The jury will evaluate each proposal according to its creativity and originality, as well as according to the knowledge of journalistic techniques and to the narrative harmony. The prize for the best reporting is a digital video camera.
Submitted works to the competition may be in exhibition at the IAMCR Annual International Conference, held by University of Minho, in July 2010.
The deadline for submissions is 31st May 2010. The proposals submitted should be sent by mail ou handed personally at Institute of Social Sciences – University of Minho – Braga.
