Dicionário de Postais Eróticos e Humorísticos - Dictionary of Erotic and Humoristic Postcards

Histórias de ninfas, lendas amorosas, casas de passe, romances telefónicos, cenas conjugais, piadas grosseiras... Há um pouco de tudo neste dicionário ilustrado de Christian Deflandre, que reúne e comenta postais eróticos e humorísticos das primeiras duas décadas do século XX, publicado há alguns meses pela Horay Éditions. Lirismo fantasioso, humor grotesco, curiosidades históricas - estes aspectos cruzam-se e entrecruzam-se numa associação livre de ideias e de imagens, que é apenas sistematizada por títulos que estão dispostos por ordem alfabética: Adam, Ancillaire, Argent, Baiser, Béranger, BMC. A desordem do imaginário evocado por estas páginas ilustradas e a ligeireza do tom de quem as escreve (como se contasse histórias) desmente o carácter enciclopédico dos dicionários e descobre no postal do início do século não tanto um exaustivo inventário visual, mas sobretudo um enredo rico de fragmentos de vida.

There's almost everything in this illustrated dictionary by Christian Deflandre, which assembles and commentates erotic and humoristic postcards of the first two decades of the XXth Century, published some months ago by Horay Éditions. Lyric fantasies, grotesque humour, historic curiosities - these aspects cross each other in a free association of ideas and pictures, which is only disciplined by titles disposed in alphabetic order: Adam, Ancillaire, Argent, Baiser, Béranger, BMC... The disorder of the imaginarium evocated by these illustrated pages and the lightness of the tone of the writer (as if he told stories) denies the encyclopedic aspect of dictionaries and represents postcards of the beginning of the century, not as an exhaustive visual inventory, but more exactly as a node of life fragments.
